Pastor Jamal Bryant Reveals Why He Cheated on Ex-Wife Gizelle and Married Her Look-Alike
Pastor Jamal Bryant, a prominent religious leader and senior pastor at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, has stirred conversation after candidly discussing the reasons behind his infidelity and his subsequent marriage to a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his ex-wife, Gizelle Bryant.
During a revealing appearance on the “Hardly Initiated” podcast on November 13th, Pastor Bryant addressed his past mistakes and offered insight into the dynamics that led to the downfall of his marriage.
Bryant openly admitted that his first attempt at monogamy was within marriage, acknowledging that he never practiced monogamy before tying the knot. He explained, “One of the mistakes I made is my first attempt at monogamy was marriage. Men cheat because they haven’t practiced how to be monogamous.”
He elaborated with a hypothetical scenario, illustrating how some men move from multiple relationships to marriage without truly letting go of old habits or emotional patterns. According to Bryant, this lack of emotional purging can lead to compartmentalized relationships, where physical intimacy is separated from genuine emotional connection.
Jamal Bryant and Gizelle Bryant, known for her role on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Potomac,” married in 2002 and shared three daughters: Grace, Angel, and Adore.

Their marriage, once seen as a strong partnership built on faith and ambition, began to unravel when allegations of Jamal’s infidelity surfaced in 2008. Reports even claimed he had fathered a child outside the marriage. The betrayal deeply hurt Gizelle, leading her to file for divorce in 2009.
Despite their split, the pair attempted to rekindle their romance in 2019, as documented on “Real Housewives of Potomac.” However, by 2021, they had once again parted ways, citing long-distance challenges and lingering trust issues as reasons for their final separation.
Shortly after his podcast confession, Pastor Bryant married Dr. Karri Turner, a fellow pastor who many fans noted looks remarkably similar to Gizelle.

The resemblance between the two women sparked conversation online, with some questioning Bryant’s motivations and others commenting on the nature of his attraction.
Bryant did not shy away from taking responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage to Gizelle. “I am divorced because I cheated,” he confessed. “Not because of irreconcilable differences, but because I broke that covenant.”

He shared that he had to embark on his own healing journey to understand why he risked his family for fleeting relationships.
The public’s reaction to Bryant’s honesty was mixed. Some criticized him for being given a platform despite his actions, while others appreciated his willingness to admit fault and discuss his personal growth.
Many noted that his story serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of self-awareness and preparation before entering into lifelong commitments.
Both Jamal and Gizelle have continued to focus on their personal development and co-parenting their daughters. Gizelle has thrived as a TV personality and entrepreneur, while Jamal remains a respected figure in ministry despite the controversies.
Their story is a testament to the complexities of love, forgiveness, and personal growth, reminding us that even in the face of public scrutiny and personal failure, it is possible to rebuild and move forward.
